6th Beverley Puppet Festival July 11th-13th 2014
Beverley Puppet Festival returns on 11th - 13th July 2014 with plans to eclipse the previous 5 festivals.
This biennial festival will continue to offer something for everyone. Previous festivals have introduced performances suitable for adults and teenagers and only limited by the imagination of the puppeteer. This is in line with a national trend sparked by shows including spectacular puppetry, such as Warhorse.
Children’s shows have proved popular with young children and their families. The shows planned range from traditional Punch & Judy and well known fairy tales to beautifully told parables relating to the world around us.
The Puppet Festival will be held in a number of venues around Beverley Town Centre and free street performances are also planned.
In 2014 ticketed theatre shows and free outdoor acts from Britain's leading puppet theatre companies will be invading Beverley.
The Beverley Puppet Festival is funded by Arts Council England and East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Beverley Arts Trust plan, organise funding for, and run the Beverley Puppet Festival.
Burton Agnes Jazz and Blues
Friday 5th to Sunday 7th July 2013
The 2013 Jazz and Blues Festival is set to be a great success with bands over three days, and performances in the Elizabethan Hall and its beautiful grounds, the festival will offer a diverse range of laid-back entertainment that inspired the Independent to write in 2009 that the Festival was ‘Possibly the most enjoyable jazz concert I've ever attended’
The large stage on the Main Lawn is where the Festival’s main acts will perform. With rolling fields behind the stage and pristine woodland to the side, you couldn’t ask for a more stunning setting.
Beverley Arts Trust host the late night sessions featuring chilled out acoustic and blistering blues at Burton Agnes Jazz and Blues festival.
